I can always just move the mp3 files to my SD card but I would prefer to be able spotify download local files to phone use Spotify for this. i had this same problem. It was resolved when I changed my network profile from public to private.
which I thought I was already on since its my home network. Which makes sense since public profile prevents other devices from accessing my laptop. I've recently added like songs as local files. Out of these songs there are like 20 songs, from different "records" that just won't sync from my desktop to my iphone. I've added three screenshots as examples.
What's interesting is that all three songs that won't sync has previously been on spotify, and I've been listening to them, but is not available anymore.
It is as if spotify have a cashe that needs to be emptied, spotify download local files to phone, because as you can see it remembers the name of the Candi Staton compilation. Under Mobile Hotspot and Tethering there is a Mobile Hotspot and a USB Tethering option. For me they were both off.
Turn on USB Tethering. Go to each playlist and turn on download, spotify download local files to phone, or if the download switch is already on, turn it off and then turn it on.
IDK what to do if you have an IPhone but I'd assume if you find the mobile hotspot in your settings, it would have some sort of USB tethering there, spotify download local files to phone.
I don't know that for sure though. When I did this to each playlist, any songs that were greyed out on my phone started downloading. Once all the songs are downloaded, turn off USB tethering spotify download local files to phone I think it turns off your WIFI. Wow, I was looking for this for so long. Thank you, it helped and it's really easy. Spotify should have listed this solution in their Help long time ago, because the Wifi Sync just doesn't work and I wasted lot of time on it.
So I just went into my pc, typed Firewall and it gives me as a result: WINDOWS DEFENDER FIREWALL WITH ADVANCED SECURITY. I found there was 4 of them I dont know why but only two of them in green and the others in red as blocked. Not sure if it helps anyone but for me switching my network from public to private solved it all.
Holy sheesh! If I'm in my house I just need to get the laptop on and all the offline tracks I put into my Dropbox and then they get picked up by the laptop and also downloaded onto my phone. I was having the same problem with local files pending to download, spotify download local files to phone. What worked for me was switching wifi networks. Most routers broadcast 2 signals a 2. If you go to the devices tab on your phone and check "Show local devices only" then click the device menu, you can see if you are actually on the right network.
I had the same problem as many others on here - although mine was because I changed internet providers. Under Virgin Media Local Files synced fine when I downloaded them on a mobile, but when I switched to BT it came to a grinding halt. Laptop and mobile were using the same WiFi, just like they did with Virgin Media, but obviously BT is set up differently to Virgin Media. I disabled firewall settings on my router as it's default on with BT temporarily, and then created a mobile hotspot and connected my laptop to my mobile network.
Straight away the Local Files waiting to download on my mobile started up. It's a bit of a pain as it will mean doing this each time I want to download some spotify download local files to phone with local files to my mobile, but I don't neccessarily blame Spotify here - it's clearly something to do with more secure connections on BT vs Virgin.
Am sure similar occurs with other providers around the world. Here's a tip to avoid local files disappearing or becoming unplayable - if you ever have problems with a Local File, just edit the file properties so it won;t try and sync with stream data in the future.
Often it's because music is added to a local territory that I'm not in, my playlist no longer likes my local file as it can see a 'real' file in Spotify world - but then can't play it for me as I'm not in that territory, so I end up having to edit the local file properties and reimporting - often leading to doubletracks that later need deleting out!
A right faff - better off just changing all local files and adding an extra character into all recognisable fields! I thought because I ripped the songs from youtube they just would not work ever, but I got them onto my phone, so I'm hoping if anyone is still having trouble as I was, this will help you. Ok so I did everything, fixed my firewall Note: I didnt turn it off because I don't know how because bitdefender controls my firewall and I couldn't get it off so I allowed spotify and iTunes through on firewall in the main settings and in the advanced settings, turned my data OFF on my phone so it was on wifi with my computer, I then preceeded to add the files to iTunes, just using the folders because I saw most of my music was working from iTunes so I figured I would try it all, ok so the songs are in the iTunes library.
Back to spotify I added the songs to a new playlist on spotify, the songs show up in my phone but are gray, but I'm able to toggle the download switch and they started downloading fine.
I'm hoping this'll help anyone still having trouble, I was ready to throw my phone against the wall cause everything was working on pc but not the phone XD. Hello I know this is an older forum but I found a solution after looking through this formum and trying the things suggested.
First of all I did spotify download local files to phone the firewall first but I checked my phone after doing that and they had not transfered. Also I was watching my task manager and Spotify never uploaded anything.
Next, out of frustration really, I was playing one of the songs on my computer that would not show up on my phone and I clicked on the devices available and clicked on my phone.
My phone continued to play the song as it would with any of the songs from spotify and I walked over to my phone and was surprised to see that all the songs on this playlist that were previously unavailable were now all available! After so many attemp, I was able to sync the local songs to my iphone 6 vers Then "kill" Spotify and connect your Iphone to spotify download local files to phone mine is Mac using Spotify download local files to phone. Once you open Spotify again, the download start asap.
What have you tried so far? Perhaps I can help! I've dealt with a few issues on Spotify and have been able to find a solution for most. i've downloaded the playlist to my laptop as the app requested i do and when i try to download it on my phone is just says waiting to download. well hopefully doing them right i've tried the hotspot method, taking down the firewall, trying to download with 4g instead of wifi, and probably other things that i cant quite remember, spotify download local files to phone.
again hopefully i did all of these right, but none have worked. all the songs are just sitting in their own playlist and evertime i try to download the playlist on my phone it just says waiting for songs to download or something to that extent and remain greyed out. hopefully you can help.
